On a Magic Monday two very clever artists came to visit. They were called Bronwyn and Jan, they are sisters. They came to teach us to paint, print and sew magical creatures.

First of all we designed our creatures out of sticks, leaves, bark and moss collected from Merrydale. We all made some fabulous creatures, even Mrs Hirst made one. Once we?d designed them we copied and labelled them onto paper.

Next it was time to paint and print our creatures. Bronwyn showed us how to cover the leaves and sticks with paint and then turn them upside down to print them onto paper. The colours looked really dull and boring when we painted them, but once they were painted Jan or Bronwyn then ironed them onto some super shiny material. The colours changed into fabulously bright colours, it was like watching magic.

The last stage was the sewing and decorating. Bronwyn showed how to thread our needles and to tie knots in the end of our threads. Once we had our threads we had to put wadding and another piece of material behind our creatures. We then had to sew around the outline of our creatures with coloured thread. After sewing we could decorate our creatures with sequins and googly eyes.
