Topics we will be learning about

We work on a 3 year rolling programme for humanities (history and geography) topics.
These are set out in the table below.

For the other subjects we follow the National Curriculum guidelines and QCA schemes of work.

We like to give the children lots of 'hands on' experiences and make good use of the local environment. We also invite visitors to school to enrich the experiences offered to our children. See our Merrydale Magic pages for an example of this kind of work.

Healthy Schools

We are currently working towards assessment for Healthy Schools Award. The main school policies we have to have in place can be accessed from this page. Comments from parents are welcomed and will contribute to our ongoing review process.
